June Romance Releases: Tropes Edition 💗💗💗
Happy Pride, Black Music, and Caribbean-American Heritage Month!
Hi Librarygoers!
Happy June! We’re already a few days into the month and it looks like there is some VERY exciting reading in store.
One of my favorite reads of the year comes out today, I plan to read one of my most anticipated summer reads on the way back from vacation next week and I have a lot of bookstore visits in my summer future.
Summer is the perfect time for fun, flirty reads and I have a list if you want to keep busy with a book (or 20!).Â
If you spend any time around Romancelandia, you’ve already seen dozens of lists of LGBTQIA+ reads for the month in June. I even have a few on my radar that I’ve included below but I can’t share titles for affinity months without a caveat.
Don’t just read queer books in June. Read them all year long. Allyship via diverse reading isn’t just about doing things when the spotlight’s on but also to light a fire. In the same vein, don’t just read Black books in February, Arab-American books in April, AAPI books in May, books about disabled couples in July, Latine books in September/October, or Indigenous Reads in November.
Diversifying your reading list is about permanent growth and not performative growth.
I hope this list encourages you to add a few queer romances to the top of your TBR and that you read something this month that makes you happy! I’ve included some of the tropes to make it easier for you to pick a book based on your mood (which is how I read 99.5% of the time).
Also, June is also Black Music Month and Caribbean-American Heritage Month (I🖤🇯🇲) so I’ve included a few inspired recs in those categories as well.
Note: If you purchase books linked here via Bookshop, I may receive a small commission.
